7th Mules vs. Littlefield

The seventh-grade Mules made
21 of their 30 points against the Littlefield Wildcats from 3-point distance.
Littlefield opened with a 6-0 run, and the Mules could never catch up.
Littlefield won the game 51-30.
Irvin Torres got the Mules
started from the corner with a trey in the opening period. Justin Dykes drove
the right side of the lane for a hoop. The Mules trailed 10-5 after one
quarter.
Davian McMullen was just
inside the arc for the Mules first basket of the second period. Elisar Cisneros
drove the baseline for a layup. Tate Shipman sank a 15-foot jumper from the
baseline. Dykes dropped in a 3-pointer from the right wing. Cash Reeder nailed
a trey from the corner with one tick left on the clock. The Mules trailed 26-17
at the intermission.
Torres picked off a
Littlefield pass and drove the floor for a layup. He made a second layup before
the quarter ended. Cisneros hit from outside the arc to close out the Mules’
scoring. Littlefield led 46-24 with one period left to play.
Cisneros converted an
old-fashion three-point play to open the final quarter. He battled through a
Wildcat foul to drop in a layup and converted the layup. McMullen the Mules’
final trey of the game from the right wing.
Cisneros paced the Mules with
eight points. Torres dropped in seven points. McMullen and Dykes added five
points each. Reeder finished with three points, and Shipman chipped in two
points.
The Mules played in the
Levelland Tournament over the weekend and traveled to Idalou Monday and will
stay on the road to play Dimmitt January 22. The Mules will return home January
29 to host the Slaton Tigers.
