JV Lady Mules vs. Idalou (1-19-2018)
The JV Lady Mules made a run at the visiting Idalou
Lady Cats in the second period, but could not catch the Lady Cats. The Lady
Mules cut the lead to just six points at the intermission. Idalou ran away with
the game in the third period and defeated the Lady Mules 47-25.
Kinsey Parker converted a free throw to start the
Lady Mule offense in the opening period. Maddison Price sank a 12-foot baseline
jumper and later chipped in a free throw. Jordan Zapata drove the lane for a
hoop. The Lady Mules trailed Idalou 19-6 after one quarter.
The Lady Mules converted nine-of-12 free throws in
the second period to cut into the Lady Cat lead. Citlalli Vargez made all six
of her free throw attempts. Emily Mora made a pair of charity tosses. Price
sank a short jumper before Joceline
Ramirez converted a free throw. Ramirez drove the paint for a layup before the
half ended. The Lady Mules had cut the Idalou lead to 25-19 at the intermission.
Vargez scored the Lady Mules’ only basket of the
third period. Idalou had extended the lead to 45-21 with one quarter left to
play.
Mora and Price made a hoop each to end the Lady Mule
scoring.
Vargez led the Lady Mules with eight points. Price
added seven points, Mora had four points, and Ramirez dropped in three points.
Zapata finished with two points, and Parker chipped in one point.
The Lady Mules hosted the Dimmitt Bobbies Tuesday
evening and will travel to Slaton Friday to play the Tigerettes.
